Bajaj began in 1952, in a modest Delhi workshop, with a man who had arrived from Sialkot with nothing. Sh. Krishan Lal Bajaj, displaced by Partition, started again from the ground up, shaping knives and cutlery by hand. He did not build alone, beside him stood his wife, Smt. Nirmala Devi, and his younger brothers; together, from their own home, they turned patient handwork into a name people came to trust.
He worked to one belief, and passed it to every generation that followed:

In the decades that followed, the workshop became an industry. Five people working from home grew into a workforce of more than fifty. The family commissioned its own steel rolling mill, and in 1983 made India's first stainless steel chafing dish. What began as cutlery had become the art of the buffet: pieces that carry a great occasion, from the first guest to the last.
Today Bajaj sets the tables of hotels, banquets and caterers in more than thirty countries, and lends its craft, unseen, to brands in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. Three generations on, the company is still family-led and, in the ways that matter, unchanged. We remain certain that the finest thing you can offer a guest is something built for a lifetime.
